A woman went shopping to pick up some kitchen paper, and she couldn't believe how expensive it was.

Farah Shams is known for making viral content on TikTok, and she recently revealed she can't get over how nobody is talking about the price of kitchen paper. It comes after so many products were super expensive at her local supermarket, but it turns out there's a catch.

In a recent clip, she said: "Exhibit A - £11 on two rolls. Not even four rolls. Starmer, what's going on? Rishi's gone now. What are you going to do to change the country? It's still £9.50 on Clubcard."

There are some kitchen rolls available at cheaper prices at Tesco, including a basic option for £2.55, but it was that particular branded product that left the shopper reeling.

Farah then moves on to see how expensive meal deals are, and comes to learn that it's £3.60 for one, which she claimed was 10p up on the week before. Farah also didn't understand why she's told fruit is classed as a "main" course.

The video has since been viewed more than 50,000 times, and it's got a lot of people talking about price hikes. They dubbed the price of two kitchen rolls "a joke".

One person said: "They think we're millionaires." Another wrote: "Meal deals used to be £3 at the start of the year."

A third replied: "Omg, I saw a two-pack of of kitchen towel in Aldi for over £6 and thought that was hideous."

Meanwhile, a fourth also commented: "I think they're raising prices just so you can make more videos."

Many admitted they find Farah's videos hilarious because she's so funny when she goes around the shops. One confessed she really "livens up their day".

Back in August, Tesco admitted it was making a big change to its beloved meal deal, as the UK's leading grocer announced a price increase that will hit shoppers' pockets. In a move bound to stir up some drama, Tesco revealed the cost of its standard meal deal would rise.

From Thursday, August 22, Clubcard holders saw the price of their usual Tesco meal deal jump from £3.40 to £3.60. For those without the benefit of a Clubcard, the cost is even steeper, with the meal deal now setting them back £4, up from the previous £3.90.

At the time, the supermarket defended the increase in pricing by pointing to a series of enhancements made to the quality of its meal deal offerings. Recent upgrades include a switch to longer-matured cheddar for a stronger flavour, the introduction of sweeter plum tomatoes and new seasoning blends in select meals.

Since Farah's video was published Tesco confirmed the kitchen roll product shown is not priced at £11 as claimed, so there appears to have been some sort of mix up. Plenty Kitchen Towel 200 Sheets 2 Roll is currently priced at £5.65, or £3.90 on Clubcard prices in Express stores.

The meal deal is priced at £3.60 for Clubcard members, and £4 for those without a Clubcard.
