Now we have left summer behind and autumn is underway, it won't be long before our gardens are filled with colourful leaves, mud, and debris - and it can be hard to keep clean.

Cool and damp conditions also make a breeding ground perfect for mould and moss to grow, making our patios a slip hazard.

While many people will reach for their expensive jet washers to spray away unwanted dirt marks or moss, there is a simple and easy trick which won't cost you a lot and will help clean up your garden within a short space of time.

Claire Appleton was able to transform her grey-stained patio into a gleaming space. The North Yorkshire woman often shares her top cleaning and homecare tips on her TikTok page, and has raked in over 79,200 likes on her videos.

She insists that "jet washing a patio doesn't actually work". Claire explained: "It may remove the surface grey but it doesn't kill the cause."

Claire uses a washer to get rid of the first layer of dirt on her garden slabs, before going in with a viral product. She uses No Nonsense Easyfix Patio Joint Mortar to give her garden a makeover. The product can be purchased from Screwfix for £31.99.

She begins by using a watering can to wet the area before pouring the product between the gaps in her patio slabs. She was able to easily repair the broken patio slabs, and also create a clean brand-new looking space.

It's then important to clean the product away. "You have 24 hours after [applying the product] to clean it before it fully sets," she explained.

People rushed to comment after being impressed by Clarie's trick. One individual said: "Omg we need to do this so bad."

Another said: "Amazing tip Clarie. Looks fantastic." "Great job," said another.
