Chocolate chip cookies
NOTHING beats the taste of home-made cookies fresh from the oven. These are sure to be snapped up quickly and make a wonderful addition to any afternoon tea. Makes 18.
INGREDIENTS
125g soft margarine,
plus extra for greasing
175g plain flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
85g muscovado sugar
5 tablespoons caster sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
125g dark chocolate chips
METHOD
1) Preheat the oven to 190C/170C fan/gas 5, and lightly grease two baking trays.
2) Place all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl and beat until well combined
These are sure to be snapped up quickly and make a wonderful addition to any afternoon tea
3) Place tablespoonfuls of the mixture onto the baking trays, spacing them well apart to allow for spreading during cooking
4) Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the cookies are golden brown
5) Using a palette knife, transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
