We've been inundated with new takes on Sunday roast dinners in recent times, with foodies eager to share details of their own culinary adaptations of our favourite vegetables.

The latest concoction go to viral on social media is a twist on Yorkshire pudding - using an air fryer to create a pizza version of the popular baked side dish. TikTok user Easy Air Fryer Recipes (@easyairfryerrecipess) is a regular poster when it comes to cooking up new ideas with the kitchen appliance.

And the new addition to her collection of videos is no different - though not everyone appears keen to sample it for themselves. The instructional clip, which has been viewed a staggering 1.4 million times in four days, begins with the home cook showcasing her ingredients - a two-packet of Tesco Home Cooked Giant Yorkshire puddings, a packet of hot pepperoni slices, Italian tomato passata, Italian style seasoning, tomato puree and grated mozzarella.

After pouring the passata into a bowl, the home cook sprinkles in a generous amount of the seasoning, before adding around a tablespoon of puree. She then mixes the base together and applies it to the Yorkshire puddings - placed on air fryer baking paper.

Next, the home cook applies further seasoning, adding mozzarella and four pieces of pepperoni on top. Further base follows, as does another layer of mozzarella and pepperoni and its ready to go.

The home cook, who has 48,000 followers, then places her creation in the air fryer before showcasing the end product and slicing it up as you would an ordinary pizza, ready to eat.

"As a Yorkshire man, I’m both impressed and appalled," one viewer jokingly penned in response. "Kudos!" A second person, confident in its future success, quipped: "Can’t wait for these to be at Christmas markets for £7.99."

Offering similar thoughts to the Yorkshireman, a third added: "The Italian part of me is crying, the Yorkshire part wants to try it." Whilst a fourth penned: "Maybe I am just greedy but a pizza to me is like ten times the size of that, and I eat the entire thing."

In a response to a question about her method, meanwhile, Air Fryer Recipes revealed the cooking time is seven to 10 minutes at 200C. Elsewhere, another TikTok user recommended "180 for 18 minutes" in a fan-assisted oven.

"Can't imagine the Yorkshire pud makes a good texture for pizza style in my opinion," declared one TikTok user shutting down the idea. "Good idea but you gotta cook that sauce a bit first," suggested a second critique.

Whilst a third simply added: "Needs more cheese."
