'People seriously love' this air fryer Turkish bread that's ready in 13 minutes

Air fryers have transformed the way we cook by making it easy to fry food with little to no oil.

The on-trend appliance is also a great choice for food fans trying to cut down on their carbs, as you can ditch heavy, starchy ingredients and create Keto-friendly goodies with ease.

One particularly awesome offering that is both low fat and low carb is a delicious Turkish bread. Using just three everyday ingredients, this recipe is causing quite a buzz amongst air fryer experts.

Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the bread is tasty on its own or can be used as a base for pizza toppings, sandwiches, wraps and more.

To create the flatbreads, all you need is some self-raising flour, plain yoghurt and a teaspoon of olive oil. With a prep time of five minutes and a cooking time of just eight minutes, this low-carb alternative to bread can be ready to enjoy in less than 15 minutes.

Here's how to make the Turkish flatbread at home:

Ingredients:

  • Two cups self-raising flour
  • One cup plain yoghurt (low-fat or full-fat yoghurt is fine)
  • One teaspoon olive oil (plus one tablespoon for brushing, optional)

Method:

Add flour, yoghurt and one teaspoon olive oil to a large bowl.

Work ingredients with your hands until dough forms. This will take about two-three minutes

Place dough on a floured surface and split it into eight equal pieces.

Roll each piece into a ball. Then roll them out with a rolling pin on your floured surface. Each piece should be rolled out until it is about four inches across.

Brush a small amount of oil onto both sides.

Preheat your air fryer for three minutes at 300 degrees.

Place prepared flatbread into your air fryer basket.

Air fryer for eight minutes, flipping it halfway through.
