A man has struck gold after spending £5.90 on two extremely generous Too Good To Go bags from Starbucks.

Founded back in 2015, Too Good To Go has propelled into the mainstream in recent years - allowing savvy shoppers to snap up cheap food that would otherwise end up getting binned.

Users can purchase 'mystery bags' where the contents isn't known, meaning the whole thing can be a little risky. But for Alister James McRoberts - the gamble clearly paid off.

Taking to Facebook, the bargain hunter showed off his 'best' Too Good To Go experience after picking up two bags from his local Starbucks in Elgin, Scotland.

For less than £6, Alister received seven bags of pastries including a variety of croissants, chocolate twists, cinnamon roll and a Halloween-themed cake pop.

But more impressively, the man was also given a whopping 35 slices of caramel shortbread which costs around £3.15 depending on the location of your store.

That means Alister bagged more than £115 worth of food, before totalling up the dozen pastries which are also priced around £3 each.

"Just as well we are visiting family tomorrow," he said in a post with more than 1,500 likes and hunreds of comments. "Get the kettle on."

Swathes of users flocked to the comments section to share their thoughts - with many hailing Alister for hitting the jackpot with the 'great find'.
"I can't express how jealous I am," one person wrote. Another quipped: "With all those millionaires slices about £22,000 at Starbucks."
A third added:"Blimey!! I like the random cake pop," while a fourth penned: "What a bloody good bargain."
