BMW 2 Series Active Tourer and Gran Tourer 2018 models revealed in the UK.
Both versions of the car have been updated for 2018 including a refined design, refreshed cabin and new powertrain options.
The two MPVs will hope to provide competition to Mercedes B-Class models.
Since the cars went on sale in 2014, 380,000 version have been sold worldwide.
Active Tourer still remains as the smaller of the two being offered in a five-seat configuration, while the Gran Tourer is a larger seven-seater.
The design of both cars has been updated including larger kidney grilles at the nose and new hexagonal lighting signatures and headlights.
At the rear of the car there is a newly designed rear apron and large exhaust tailpipes.
Equipping the M Sport package will further modify the car’s design giving it sporty styling cues.
Two new colour options have also been added for the vehicles’ exterior - Jucaro Beige and Sunset Orange - and six new light-alloy wheel design in 17, 18 and 19-inch formats
Inside the car there is a choice of more exclusive materials and seat covers in cloth/Sensatec and leather.
A new range of engine options have been made available for the updated 2 Series models.
BMW 2 Series Active Tourer engines develop outputs from 80 kW/109 hp to 170 kW/231 hp, the power units for the BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer from 80 kW/109 hp to 141 kW/192 hp.
From Marhc the diesle engines will employ exhaust gas treatment technology including a diesel particulate filter, NOX adsorber catalyst and SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system, which uses urea solution (AdBlue) injection to effectively reduce nitrogen oxides in the car’s exhaust gases.
A Hybrid variant has also been added and the powertrain on that vehicle has all- electric range of 45 kilometres (28 miles) and a system output of 224 hp.
Both versions of the car will go on sale later this month with first deliveries expected to take place towards the end of March.
