The accident compensation experts Claims.co.uk has shared a new study finding the most dangerous postcodes for motorists across the UK.

Issued for a wide variety of offences, penalty points can make car insurance more expensive to buy and, if accumulated, lead to a driving disqualification.

Using information sourced from the Government, Claims.co.uk found the postcode in which motorists have the most points on their licence is PL3, a fairly central area in the city of Plymouth.

According to the company, 2,657 of the motorists living in the postcode have at least one point on their licence - more than 13 percent of all residents with a full driving licence.

PL4 also ranked sixth on the survey, with 12.29 percent of motorists living in the area also having obtained points due to driving offences.
