Stomach bugs are a relatively common type of illness which tend not to be dangerous for healthy people - although can pose a risk to old and frail people.
They are characterised usually by intense pains or cramps in the abdominal area, vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, fever, muscle pain, weight loss and decreased appetite.
Norovirus is the most common form of stomach bug, and symptoms usually last between one and three days.
