The Perricone diet has a focus on fighting inflammation and cutting down on oxidative stress, both of which probably speed up ageing and other health issues. 

The diet encourages consumption of anti-inflammatory foods like fatty fish, leafy greans, colourful fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and olive oil.

It also advocates for high-quality protein like poultry, eggs and wild-caught fish, as well as antioxidant-rich food like berries, dark chocolate and green tea.
