Coronation Street, also known as Corrie, is a popular soap opera that began at 7pm on Friday December 9, 1960. The ITV series focuses on a cobbled street in Weatherfield, a fictional suburb of Machester. Notable characters include Maria Connor, played by Samia Longchambon, Gary Windass, played by Mikey North, and the legendary Steve McDonald, played by Simon Gregson.
