Gary Cahill will come to Blues aid
GARY CAHILL will complete an £8million move from Bolton to Chelsea today convinced how much he is needed at Stamford Bridge.
The England defender passed a medical yesterday then watched from the stands as his new colleagues survived some more defensive hiccups before stuttering over the line 1-0 against Sunderland.
Cahill, who has agreed a £90,000 a week deal, is expected to make his debut at Norwich next Saturday at the expense of David Luiz who again looked vulnerable.
That will signal the resumption of Cahill’s successful partnership with John Terry for England and hopefully plug the gaps in Chelsea’s defence.
We know Alex’s market value and we are not going to let him go cheaply
While Cahill signs in, Chelsea’s Brazilian defender, Alex, will be on his way out next week.
QPR are believed to have offered £3m for him, with add-ons based on his number of appearances. Chelsea are believed to be holding out for more cash up front.
Manager Andre Villas-Boas, said: “We know Alex’s market value and we are not going to let him go cheaply.
