TSB banking app 'down' as thousands of users report being locked out of accounts

More than 2,700 customers have had issues accessing their savings.

Thousands of TSB customers have complained that the banking app is down leaving them without access to their funds.

More than 2,700 savers have reported being affected by the outage, according to figures from DownDetector.

One customer said on X this morning (May 30): "Cannot access my TSB app or online banking.

"App is saying 'we weren't able to do that' online is saying 'sorry, we are currently experiencing technical issues. Please try later'.

"When will this be fixed as I need to access my account."

Another customer said the app wasn't working for them last night as well as this morning.

Businesses also reported being affected. An acting agency said on X: "Are you guys having an issue with your business banking app not working and on the business banking app website an error is coming up everytime I put in my user id?"

TSB said in a response to a tweet at 8.53am: "We’re aware that customers are experiencing issues with our digital services. We’re sorry for any inconvenience and are working hard to resolve it."

Customers have reported issues with the app such as an error message when trying to log in while others said the app just won't log them in.

Other frustrated savers have not been able to get through the 'fingerprint' stage of the login process.

TSB told Express.co.uk the issues are intermittent and some customers have been able to log in as usual.

A spokesperson said: "We're aware that some customers have had difficulty logging into the app and online banking. We’re sorry for any inconvenience and are working hard to resolve it as soon as possible."

We have now had an update to say the issue has been resolved. A spokesperson said: "We're aware some customers had issues logging into our app and online banking this morning. This issue is now resolved and we're sorry for any inconvenience it caused."

Internet banking and mobile banking previously had a status of 'intermittent' while telephone banking, TSB Smart Agent - Website and TSB Smart Agent - Mobile Banking App are all listed as 'available'.
