Left 4 Dead 3 SHOCK - Are Valve teasing long-awaited sequel? Fans given reasons to hope
LEFT 4 Dead 3 fans have been given reasons to hope the long-awaited sequel from Valve could finally be coming to PS4, Xbox One and PCs.
Left 4 Dead 3 - Surprise news gives fans reasons to hope for PS4, Xbox One, PC release date
Left 4 Dead 3 - like Half Life 3 - is one of those mythical games that fans have long been hoping would get a PS4, Xbox One and PC release.
It’s been almost nine years since Valve released Left 4 Dead 2, and over 13 years since Half Life 2 first hit the shelves.
And despite the long wait for sequels to the iconic Valve games, rumours of Left 4 Dead 3 and Half Life 3 have not gone away.
The upcoming release of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Shenmue 3 shows that game publishers do sometimes fulfil long-demanded requests from fans.
And those hoping Valve will finally release Left 4 Dead 3 were given reasons to be hopeful over the weekend.
The first tease to catch gamers attention was thanks to the official Left 4 Dead website.
When you click on the Facebook logo on the game’s official website it links to what appears to be the official Left 4 Dead 2 Facebook page.
And there are a number of notable changes to this page.
Firstly, the name of the page has been changed to Ted Carson - a Valve developer rumoured to be working on Left 4 Dead 3.
The most eye catching change is the banner image has also been changed to show a hand with three fingers.
The image looks similar to the hands used on promotional material for the original Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2.
Later, however, it emerged that the Facebook page could have been hijacked by a troll and the image was photoshopped, Game Revolution reported.
Twitter user Steam Database tweeted: “Left 4 Dead 2's official page was taken down or removed, and someone has taken it over ~23 hours ago and uploaded an edited hand picture from the L4D1 trailer.
“The page had over a million of likes before, but now it is a personal page.”
They added: “We don't see any things pointing towards the new page actually being official.
“It's possible a troll hijacked the URL and picked Ted Carson's name from previous L4D3 related leaks to come across as believable.”

The page later posted a picture showing the three fingered hand, which was now holding a Magic the Gathering style card.
Alongside it was the caption “The Left 4 Dead card game”, suggesting it was all an elaborate prank.
However, there is one other tease that has left fans wondering if Left 4 Dead 3 is in the pipeline.
Valve recently issued official patch notes for a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive update.
The patch notes mentions an “ashtray for smokers” - however, smokers are not a thing in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
Smokers, however, are one of the main enemies in Left 4 Dead.
The puzzling line in the patch notes could be a subtle hint from Valve to get the hype train rolling for Left 4 Dead 3.
If it is, then Left 4 Dead fans can expect to see more teases from Valve in the coming months.
Alternatively, it could just be a throwaway line in the patch notes - so don’t be getting ready to pre-order Left 4 Dead 3 just yet.
Left 4 Dead 2 was released back in 2009
Last year Half Life 3 rumours began to circulate once again after Valve made a shock announcement.
In July 2017 Valve released a surprise update for the original Half Life - which was released way back in 1998.
It’s unprecedented for a developer to announce an update for a game that’s so old, even if it is an iconic title.
The update brought with it a number of fixes to the game - but fans were left scratching their heads to why it was released in the first place.
On Steam a number of fans were left thinking the update could signal Half Life 3 was back on the cards.
On the Half Life Steam page, one user wrote: “OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
“Update on 01/10/2017, 10 - 7 = 3. HL3 Confirmed!!!”
While others simply wrote: “HL3 Confirmed!”
Another added: “It's a sign. HL3 Confirmed.”
