Argos has opened pre-orders for the brand new Meta Quest 3S virtual reality device. The recently announced Meta Quest 3S is a more affordable version of the popular virtual reality headset, coming with 128GB of storage, a copy of Batman Arkham Shadow and a 3-month Meta Quest+ trial for just £289.99. That's a huge saving compared to the £409.99 price tag for the regular Meta Quest 3 with the same amount of storage. The Meta Quest 3S has an October 15 release date, but you can pre-order now by clicking the Argos link below. According to Argos, pre-orders will be delivered for free on October 15, or you can choose to collect from your local store.

The Meta Quest 3S is a more affordable virtual reality headset, retailing for £289.99 with a copy of Batman Arkham Shadow as well as a 3-month trial of the Meta Quest+ subscription service.

It's unclear how many units are available at launch, but it may be worth pre-ordering based on the headset's popularity.

The virtual reality device is listed as "in-demand" on the Argos website, with dozens of pre-orders selling by the hour.

It's also listed as the number two best-seller in the virtual reality category at Argos, second only to the 512GB Meta Quest 3, which is available for £469.99.

If you're interested in the Meta Quest 3S, but want a bit more storage, the 256GB model is also on sale, and can be pre-ordered for £379.99.

Similar to the regular Meta Quest 3, the 3S features mixed-reality support, giving users a combination of VR and augmented reality action.

The headset itself boasts 4.5 times the resolution and colour compared to Quest 2, as well as high-definition resolution with 1832 x 1920 pixels per eye and 8GB of RAM for superior performance.

The Meta Quest app store has hundreds of games and VR experiences to pick from, including fan-favourite virtual reality games like Beat Saber, Walkabout Mini Golf and Superhot.

The lack of wires means the Meta Quest is also a great choice for fitness games like boxing, which work incredibly well despite having a headset strapped to your face.

Then there's Batman Arkham Shadow, which is free with each order. The game is set between Arkham Origins and Batman: Arkham Asylum, and features similar gameplay elements, albeit with far more immersion.

Outside of gaming apps, users can transform rooms into personal cinemas, complete with giant screens and dimmed lights.
