Everything announced at Xbox Games Showcase 2026 - full list
The latest Xbox Games Showcase had plenty to get excited about, from first looks at the new Call of Duty, Gears of War and more.

The Xbox Games Showcase 2026 offered an exciting first look at some of the platform's biggest upcoming releases. The two-hour reveal showed off tantalising glimpses of titles like Gears of War: E-Day, Fable and more.
There were world premieres for Senua, the Revelations expansion for Doom: The Dark Ages and the first Spyro game in almost two decades - Spyro: A Realm Beyond. There was plenty to get excited about and not just from the new games and content coming up. Xbox also showed off its X25 edition of the Xbox Series X, a special celebration of 25 years since the original Xbox released.

Here's everything announced at the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, including release dates, trailers and more.
Gears of War: E-Day
Release date: October 6 (Open beta on August 6)
The main focus of the showcase was on the newest Gears of War game. Xbox offered us the first ever look at gameplay for E-Day, which takes place at the moment the Locust Horde emerges from the underground.
It was also revealed that E-Day will be an Xbox console exclusive - so the days of sharing the platform's biggest names with PlayStation gamers appears to be coming to a close. E-Day will be available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox on PC, as well as through cloud gaming and Game Pass.
It'll also work with Xbox Play Anywhere and those who pre-order will secure early access to the Open Beta, which begins on August 6.
Halo: Campaign Evolved
Release date: July 28
Xbox Games Showcases confirmed that the remaster of the original Halo's campaign will arrive in a matter of weeks. Halo: Campaign Evolved will release on July 28, and pre-orders offer up to five days of early access.
Halo Studios' latest trailer offered a look at three new missions coming with Campaign Evolved with the first look at Operation: METEORITE. Halo: Campaign Evolved is launching on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox on PC and is included with Game Pass with Play Anywhere and cloud gaming support.
It'll also be released on Steam and PlayStation 5. There'll be Standard, Premium and Collector's Editions of the game, the latter of which will cost gamers £153.
Fable
Release date: February 23, 2027
A new trailer for Fable revealed that award-winning Marvel actress Hayley Atwell will play an important role in the newest game in the franchise. Atwell will portray villain Isabel, who is obsessed with "righting Albion's wrongs".
The trailer also teased the return of an iconic character in Jack of the Blades, who makes a comeback when Fable launches next year. Fable will arrive on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox on PC, Steam and PS5 and early access is available with the Premium Edition.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4
Release date: October 23
After the disastrous release of Black Ops 7, Call of Duty is returning to the Modern Warfare series later this year. Developed by Infinity Ward - who were behind the original Modern Warfare trilogy as well as the beloved 2019 reboot - it'll feature a game mode that was abandoned in 2023.
The Xbox Games Showcase offered a first look at the DMZ mode - first seen alongside Warzone back in 2022 - which provides COD players with an extraction-shooter experience. Developers have promised it to be more like a standalone title within that space rather than the gamemode it was while in beta.
Modern Warfare 4 is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and will have cloud gaming and play anywhere support. It will also be available on Battle.net, Steam, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5.
Senua
Release date: TBC 2027
A surprise reveal during the Showcase, Senua will continue the Hallblade series starring the eponymous Celtic warrior. Developers Ninja Theory promise a "bold new step" and claim that the title reflects "something fresh and new and different", rather than a 'Hellblade III' game.
The first trailer showed off action-adventure gameplay that'll force players to make tactical combat decisions. Caught between life and death in a fractured purgatory, Senua will need to make use of a range of weapons and abilities to reach the afterlife and reunite with those she loves.
Senua will arrive next year on Xbox Series X/S and Xbox on PC with Xbox Play Anywhere and cloud gaming support, and will be included in Game Pass. It's also set to arrive on PlayStation 5.
Spyro: A Realm Beyond
Release date: Spring 2027
The first original Spyro game since 2018's Dawn of the Dragon for PS3, Wii, Xbox 360 and PS2 was another big surprise during the Xbox Games Showcase. The beloved purple dragon is sporting a new look but long-time voice actor Tom Kenny will return in the lead role.
Developers Toys for Bob promise to create a game that long-time fans will adore, and have chosen to give Spyro the ability to fly rather than glide as he could in the classic 1990s and 2000s games. Spyro: A Realm Beyond lands on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox on PC, cloud gaming, Steam, PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 next Spring.
What else was confirmed at Xbox Games Showcase 2026?
While there were plenty of hotly-anticipated games, the showcase offered a look at the new Xbox 25 anniversary collection. Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the original Xbox console, it includes a limited edition Xbox Series X - the X25 - with a translucent design inspired by the 2001 console.
The X25 special edition wireless controller matches the new console, and will be available separately as well as in a bundle with the special console. The collection releases in November.
Other games included in the showcase was the now-confirmed Xbox console exclusive Clockwork Revolution, a steampunk RPG with time-warping consequences. A new trailer showed off a deeper look at the new title coming in 2027.
Minecraft Dungeons II was also teased with a new trailer, which showed the unexplored lands players can dive into when it releases on September 29. Xbox promises new environments, tougher enemies and wider customisation in the dungeon crawler sequel.
Fans were given a number of first gameplay trailers, including for State of Decay 3, which will offer solo play as well as a shared world for co-op gaming. Metro 2039's gameplay reveal also showed off post-apocalyptic Moscow ready for the game's release in February 2027.
There was another world first in the form of a teaser for Persona 6, while Persona 4 Revival's release date was confirmed for February 18, 2027. New gameplay and a release date for Resonance: A Plague Tale were revealed, as the latest installment in the saga comes to Xbox on August 27.

The free-to-play Wuxia RPG, Where Winds Meet, has also been released immediately on Xbox having initially only been available on PS5 and Windows. There are some exclusive benefits for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers and a trailer teased the next major expansion, Hidden Mountain, which arrives next month.
The world premier of Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember was also included in the showcase. Team NINJA's new action RPG will arrive early in 2027.
As if that wasn't enough, a new Crazy Taxi, World Tour, is confirmed for next year - the latest in the iconic driving action series and a first major game since Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller in 2002. Castlevania: Belmont's Curse was also given a release date of October 15.
Other exciting updates included the Raiders of the North expansion for Age of Empires IV. A new trailer teased two new civilisations joining the game later this year as well as plenty of new content.
The Elder Scrolls Online will offer a new storyline for The Thieves Guild in Season One on July 8, and the latest update for Fallout 76 - Infestations - has been released immediately. For wannabe pilots, there are US National Parks and National Championship Air Races updates for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
New updates for Doom: The Dark Ages and Sea of Thieves were also teased.
