Summer Game Fest 2026 leaks and predictions - FF7 Remake 3, Hogwarts Legacy 2 and GTA 6?
Summer Game Fest kicks off later tonight. These are the games we know will be there and others that we're hoping to see make an apperance.

Summer Game Fest is finally here with Geoff Keighley set to take the stage later tonight for a two-hour show filled with trailers for hit upcoming games. These shows have previously seen huge announcements such as Resident Evil Requiem, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and the release date of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, so gamers have every reason to be excited about what Keighley might have up his sleeve for this year.
We normally get a few leaks and rumours in the run-up to Summer Game Fest, occasionally spoiling a few of the big announcements. However, things seem to be locked down tight this year with very few whispers escaping Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre so far.
That being said, there are a few publishers that we know are definitely going to be there, which means we can make a few educated guesses as to what games will be shown. Here’s everything you should expect from Summer Game Fest 2026.
SEGA is going to be there
One of the only publishers that we know is definitely going to be at Summer Game Fest is SEGA. With such a wide catalogue, the publisher could be showing just about anything – but most gamers have their money on something Sonic related.
It’s been a good while since we last had a big Sonic game with Sonic X Shadow Generations launching back in October 2024. Before that, we had Sonic Frontiers, which was all the way back in 2022 now.
Early leaks and rumours seem to suggest that a sequel to Sonic Frontiers is in active development with SEGA targeting a 2027 release date, so Summer Game Fest could be the perfect opportunity to show it off to the world.
However, we also know that SEGA likes to push out new Like A Dragon games like there’s no tomorrow, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a new entry in that franchise rear its head during the presentation.
Persona 6 is also thought to be in the works, so keep an eye out for that classic SEGA logo during the trailer sizzle reels.
Star Wars: Zero Company
A collaboration between Bit Reactor and Respawn Entertainment, Star Wars: Zero Company is an XCOM strategy style game set during the Clone Wars – and it’s confirmed to be making an appearance at Summer Game Fest.
The team at Bit Reactor is actually formed of former XCOM and Civilisation developers, so the project appears to be in good hands.
There’s no rumour mill to cautiously rely on with this one. EA has confirmed that it plans to show off the title during the broadcast with its release date leaking slightly ahead of schedule.
Players can expect to be playing this one on August 27, 2026.
Of course, we can expect to see stuff from live service games like Fortnite, and an Among Us project is also thought to be making an appearance. So now that all the serious stuff is out of the way, here are the things that we’re wishing into existence rather than knowing…
Intergalactic: Heretic Prophet
I might be going out on a limb here as we literally just had Sony’s own State of Play three days ago, but it feels like we should be starting to hear more about Naughty Dog’s next game, Intergalactic: Heretic Prophet.
This title was first announced during Geoff Keighley’s own Game Awards show back in December 2024, and we’ve heard very little about the project since. The last big game that Naughty Dog released was The Last of Us: Part 2 in June 2020, making this six year stint the longest it’s ever gone between releasing new games.
Of course, we’ve had several remasters of The Last of Us since then, as well as the cancellation of the multiplayer spin-off. But unless Naughty Dog has something to show for Intergalactic: Heretic Prophet soon, it might end up skipping the PlayStation 5 generation altogether.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3

The third part of the Final Fantasy 7 remake is hotly anticipated, especially after how well Rebirth was received critically back in 2024. We know that Square Enix is working away at it, with the game’s director previously hinting that the game could come to all platforms at the same time rather than being a PS5 exclusive for a short period.
Earlier this week, industry insider NateTheHate hinted that he’d ‘heard’ the third part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake would be making an appearance at Summer Game Fest this week. We’ll believe it when we see it… but we would very much like to see it.
Alien Isolation 2
Creative Assembly announced back in 2024 that it was working on a sequel to its 2014 hit Alien Isolation, and although games these days usually take the best part of five or six years to make, the studio is already ramping up its teasers.
At the end of April this year, the team released a very short teaser showing a door opening to reveal the iconic save station from the original game. There was no release date attached to it, but if Creative Assembly is already starting to ramp up marketing, it could be a sign that the game is coming along more quickly than expected.
As mentioned, we do know that publisher SEGA will be in attendance, so I’m holding out hope that Alien Isolation 2 is set to be one of the night’s big reveals.
Hogwarts Legacy 2

Given the success of the original Hogwarts Legacy, it’s no secret that Warner Bros is keen to get another money making machine out of the door as quickly as possible. It also helps that HBO’s TV retelling is set to debut on Christmas Day this year, so releasing a new game alongside it would make a lot of sense commercially.
If Warner Bros is to hit that target, it would need to start showing off the game sooner rather than later for an early 2027 release date. It’s not confirmed anything just yet, but Summer Game Fest would be the ideal place to introduce the sequel to the world officially.
No GTA 6
I’m going to round out this piece with a game that we 100% don’t expect to see at Summer Game Fest, and that’s GTA 6. Although Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has promised marketing for the anticipated game will ramp up ‘this summer’, releasing the trailer alongside everyone else’s news just isn’t their style.
What’s more, we know that Rockstar doesn’t need a huge event like Summer Game Fest to attract eyes. Everyone and their mum’s are looking forward to this game – Take-Two can quite easily drop Trailer 3 on a random Tuesday in July and it will have 50 million views in a matter of days.
Have no fear, GTA 6 is definitely still planned for release on November 19, 2026, but I wouldn’t go getting your hopes up about seeing more of it this evening.
Summer Game Fest starts at 10pm BST on June 5, 2026. Will you be watching?
