GTA 6 leak hints at imminent release date for Trailer 3
A new email from Sony to PlayStation 4 owners seems to indicate that the marketing strategy for GTA 6 might already be underway.

GTA 6 fans think the release of trailer 3 has to be right around the corner after a new email from Sony has appeared in the inbox of PlayStation 4 owners.
Over the weekend, Sony appears to have sent out emails to PS4 players who have GTA 6 wishlisted on the store. The email reads: “Grand Theft Auto VI is on your wishlist. Buy a PlayStation 5 today so you don’t miss out on the release of Grand Theft Auto VI on November 19, 2026.”
While Rockstar parent company Take-Two Interactive remains quiet on the marketing front, this tiny email from Sony is the first bit of marketing players have seen in a long while – and it could indicate that more is to come very soon.

Afterall, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick had previously promised that marketing for GTA 6 would start to spin up around summer time. Plenty of gamers have taken Sony sending out this email as the start of that campaign, meaning more could be right around the corner.
“We're definitely getting something very soon,” reads one optimistic Reddit comment. “Strauss Zelnick interviews, pink gradient fonts/colors popping up on Rockstar’s posts, Sony showing GTA 6 with anticipated titles, and now this email popping up.”
A second adds: “This counts as marketing to me. It's starting!”

With Sony and Rockstar urging players to upgrade their consoles, it’s not a huge leap to assume that the two companies will be looking to encourage players to get their pre-orders in. Of course, that would mean pre-orders would need to be live for that to happen, with a price reveal expected to be announced with the game’s third trailer.
So far, we’ve only seen two trailers released for GTA 6 – one in December 2023 and another in May 2025. With around six months left to go until launch, a third is expected to arrive imminently.
Rockstar releasing a new trailer alongside opening up pre-orders would also fall in-line with its strategy for Red Dead Redemption 2. The third trailer for that game arrived at the start of May, with the game launching later that year in October 2018.
At the moment, Rockstar Games is yet to announce how much GTA 6 will cost. However, we reported last week that the studio is seemingly under pressure from industry analysts to price it higher than the £70 we’re used to.
