Battlefield 6 Season 3 is right around the corner with the next big title update bringing with it two classic maps from the franchises’ past, as well as a bunch of new weapons too.
The update arrives after a tumultuous time for Battlefield 6 with its peak player count dropping significantly since launch. While it’s holding steady at around 53,000 on Steam, EA and Battlefield Studios need some significant changes to encourage lapsed players back – and so far, Season 3 looks like it’s up to the challenge.

Battlefield 6 Season 3 release time
Season 3 of Battlefield 6 will launch at 1pm BST on May 12, 2026 here in the UK.
Players will have three hours to pre-load the Season 3 update ahead of time with the files going live at around 10am BST on the same day. It’s currently unknown just how big the update files will be, but they should be small enough for most players to get them downloaded in time for launch.
These timings apply to all platforms, including PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
What’s new in Battlefield 6 Season 3?
Here are the title update for what’s new in this latest season of Battlefield 6.
Players will likely be most excited about the new map, Railway to Golmud. As the name suggests, this is a remake of the classic Golmud Railway from Battlefield 4, and will be the new largest map in BF6.
Battlefield Studios has reconstructed the map to better suit the BF6 gameplay, which means a much wider aerial space and tweaks to the overall map layout.
The central train objective now moves towards the enemy base when captured to make things a little more balanced. In true Battlefield fashion, this map involves all-out warfare, including both ground and air vehicles as well as infantry.
In terms of new weapons, players are getting three brand new ones at the start of the season. They include:
- M16A4 - Assault Rifle
- L115 - Sniper Rifle
- RPK-74M - LMG
Of course, there’s the usual additions of another Battle Pass to work through, as well as new modes for REDSEC if that’s your bag.
