The October 2024 PS Plus games were recently revealed by Sony. The next batch of PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium releases include Dead Island 2, Two Point Campus and Dino Crisis. The games will be available to play on the morning of October 15.

Unfortunately, however, it's not all good news, because Sony is getting rid of around a dozen games from the Extra Catalog, including one of the best RPGs ever made.

Critically-acclaimed Japanese role-playing game Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age will no longer be playable with a PS Plus Extra subscription from the morning of October 15.

If you've already started the epic RPG and want to finish the campaign, you'll have to hurry, or purchase the game in full from the PlayStation Store.

Fortunately, the game is currently available with a massive discount on the PlayStation Store. Fans can grab the Definitive Edition of the game for £17.49, which represents a saving of 50%.

Dragon Quest XI isn't the only game leaving PS Plus Extra in October. In fact, it's not the only Dragon Quest game leaving the service this month.

Both Dragon Quest Builders games are leaving PS Plus Extra on October 15, as well as Dragon Quest Heroes and its sequel.

That's on top of high-profile games like LittleBigPlanet 3, which is being completely delisted alongside all of its DLC later this month.

The disappointing Gotham Knights will leave the service this week, alongside The Evil Within and Ultra Street Fighter IV. That's on top of Toukiden Kiwami, Gungrave Gore and R Type Dimensions.

Still it's not all bad news, because Sony is adding around a dozen games to the line-up as a replacement.

This includes the aforementioned Dead Island 2, which despite spending years in development hell, actually turned out pretty good.

SEGA strategy game Two Point Campus is another game worth playing, especially with the sequel launching in 2025.

With Halloween coming soon, subscribers can also play The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me, as well as Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed.

That's on top of Gris, Return to Monkey Island, Firefighting Simulator The Squad, Overpass 2, Tour de France 2023 and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands.

Premium subscribers can play The Last Clockwinder for PSVR 2, as well as Dino Crisis, Siren and R-Type Dimensions EX.
