Marvel’s human-vampire hybrid was portrayed by Snipes in the Blade movie trilogy between 1998-2004.
And now with a new saga of the Marvel Cinematic Universe kicking off after Avengers Infinity War and Avengers 4, fans have been wondering if the superhero will be rebooted.
One actor who some fans are backing is Star Wars’ Boyega, who was asked if he was up for taking on Blade.
Appearing at Awesome Con in Washington DC, the 26-year-old said: “[It would be a] spit in the face of Wesley [Snipes] if I took Blade. All for Wesley playing Blade.”

Marvel boss Kevin Feige has teased Blade will join the MCU at some point
Snipes has been asked in recent years who he would like to see replace him and has expressed his wishes to reprise the role.
Nevertheless Bounding Into Comics reports Boyega has had meetings with Marvel Suitors about portraying a superhero.
Apparently the actor was “adamant” that he wouldn’t be committing to the MCU in the near future.
Fan support was sparked in early March when BossLogic did a mock up of Boyega as Blade.
Interestingly Marvel boss Kevin Feige has even confirmed that Blade will enter the MCU at some point.
When Doctor Strange was released in 2016, he said: “They did ask a long time ago, and I think our answer was, 'No, we'll do something with Blade at some point.' That's still the answer.”
Meanwhile Spider-Man Homecoming director Jon Watts, who is working on the Web Slinger’s 2019 sequel, has teased how he’d like Morbius, the Living Vampire and Blade to show up.

Will Wesley Snipes reprise Blade or see his character recast for a reboot?
Speaking in 2017, Watts said: “The tone of the character is pretty dark, but the vampire/Marvel Universe thing is pretty cool.
“Maybe we could get Blade to show up, too? That’d be neat.”
However Sony Pictures have since announced they have a Morbius spin-off in the works, but there’s still hope for Blade at Marvel.
