The 59-year-old acting legend picked up yet another gong, for his performance in Darkest Hour, at last night’s Screen Actors Guild Awards.
While it’s almost certain he’ll win the Best Actor BAFTA and Oscar as well, what could such a varied actor have in mind for next project?
On SAG’s red carpet, he was asked if he would like to enter Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Speaking with People, Oldman said: “Marvel hasn’t called me.”

He continued: “But now that you mentioned it, if they’re tuning in, my son wants me to!”
It wouldn’t be the first time an A-lister has picked a big franchise to please family members.
Back in 2000, Dumbledore actor Richard Harris revealed his granddaughter said she wouldn’t speak to him again unless he played the Hogwarts Headmaster in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
Oldman’s Darkest Hour has seen reports of standing ovations from cinema audiences around the world.

One of Darkest Hour’s producers, Eric Fellner, admitted he was surprised by the news, saying it “very rarely happens.”
He added: “It has been reported back to us, not only here but in America, and across the whole of the country not just in the big metropolitan areas.
“We’ve been hearing it a lot. It’s very surprising. It very rarely happens other than at the premiere or special screenings of the films, so it’s quite extraordinary. It’s completely unusual, totally unusual.”
