Back in November Lucasfilm announced that The Last Jedi’s director Johnson will helm a new Star Wars trilogy.
Not Episodes X, XI and XII, but a story that is separate to the Skywalker saga.
Now Daily Record are reporting that the first movie in the trilogy starts filming in Scotland this June.
A source said: “As is now customary with any Star Wars production, the movie is shrouded in secrecy but they want to shoot scenes around the Rest and Be Thankful.”

The insider added: “Further filming has been pencilled in for elsewhere in the country.”
The Rest and Be Thankful is a pass between Loch Awe and Loch Long, reaching heights of 860ft. The new film will reportedly use others locations in Argyll too.
The source would be much more plausible if it was talking about Star Wars Episode IX, which is due to start shooting this year, with JJ Abrams directing.

Speaking at a fan event in Mexico just two months ago, Johnson said: “We’re gonna have to see. I’m just in the very beginning of starting to come up with what the new trilogy is going to be.
“But I can tell you this, what makes me so excited about it, is the idea of doing a new story on the big canvas of three movies in this world. “There’s just so much potential and I can’t wait to jump into it.”
