Brigsby Bear review: Original in places but wafer thin
BRIGSBY Bear is a sweet little wisp of a film that takes a whimsical approach to a nightmare ordeal.
Star Wars' actor Mark Hamill stars in Brigby Bear
James (Kyle Mooney) was kidnapped as a baby and has been held captive by Ted (Mark Hamill) and April (Jane Adams) in an underground bunker for around 30 years.
His greatest comfort has been a fake children’s science-fiction TV show called The Adventures Of Brigsby Bear, created especially for him by Ted.
James is eventually rescued and reunited with his real family but he is spectacularly naive and has lots to learn about everyday life.
Brigsby Bear is the character of a fake children's TV show in the film
His big dream is to make his own Brigsby Bear film.
Original in places but wafer thin, Brigsby Bear turns filmmaking into therapy as James confronts the past in order to face the future.
A fey, low-key charmer where you have to take an awful lot at face value.
