Since the release of Suicide Squad last year, Warner Bros have been planning more adventures for Leto’s Joker and Robbie’s Harley Quinn.
First was the announcement of Gotham City Sirens, but now the focus is on a Joker and Harley Quinn movie.
A rumour then surfaced that Glenn Ficarra and John Requa will write and direct, something that Robbie has spoken out on – while teasing the plot.
Speaking with Coming Soon, the 27-year-old said: “I heard that too. They're great! It's fun working with a directing duo, and I love them.”

Robbie continued: “I’ve obviously done two films with them so I think they're just brilliant.
“I’m personally a sucker for a love story. In any iteration.
“I think people enjoy seeing two characters who, in Harley and Joker's case, would die for one another. It's kind of romantic in a messed up way."
Meanwhile a separate Joker movie is in the works, that could star Leonardo DiCaprio.

In response, Leto said: “I’m a little confused too. But yeah, there are a couple of things happening in the DC world and I loved the Joker, he’s a great character, a really fun character to play.
“It’s a big universe and when you play the Joker, there’s no ownership there. You have the honour of holding the baton for a little while and then passing it off.”
