Wonder Woman 2: Sequel has ALREADY broken THIS huge record
WONDER WOMAN 2 is officially on the move - and it’s broken a big record before it’s even really hit its stride.
Patty Jenkins will return for Wonder Woman 2
Following the first movie’s humungous box office success at the start of the summer, it’s unsurprising that director Patty Jenkins has been asked to take the reigns again.
What is particularly notable, however, is the nature of her comeback.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, her contract will make her the highest-paid female film-maker in history.
She is thought to be on course to receive both directing and writing fees that should land somewhere between $7 to $9 million.
It's a historic deal for the film-maker
Wonder Woman was a huge success
For contrast, she was paid around $1 million for the first movie.
It’s a truly precedent-setting deal, and one that has been a long time coming: Jenkins is thought to have entered talks very soon after Wonder Woman hit cinemas, but the negotiations went on and on as its staying power continued to be made apparent.
A source told the US publication that the process was “challenging” - though clearly beneficial for all parties.
Gal Gadot, meanwhile, is already signed up to play the superhero once again.
