Star Wars Last Jedi: Big D23 news CONFIRMED - but what about a trailer?
STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI director Rian Johnson has confirmed his attendance at D23 this week.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is out in December
The film-maker will be a part of Episode 8’s panel this Saturday, July 15, as part of the Walt Disney Studios and Live Action Films session.
It’s not a panel specifically focussed on Lucasfilm, but they will be part of the two-hour programme.
Speculation on what exactly will be offered up for Last Jedi has remained under wraps, but when a fan asked: “Are you going to #D23 @rianjohnson??” he gamely tweeted back: “Yessssssssss.”
The big question now, then, is what exactly fans will be given.
Rian Johnson will be in attendance
It'll be a smaller affair than Star Wars Celebration
It has been rumoured that, despite earlier speculation, a full trailer will not be dropped just yet.
Instead, it seems something like a behind-the-scenes reel will be showcased, alongside a nugget or two of information on the new Han Solo movie.
The spin-off recently went through a controversial change of directors, with Ron Howard taking over from axed Phil Lord and Christopher Miller - although the film’s actual title is still unknown.
There has also been ongoing talk that perhaps plans for more spin-offs could be unveiled.

Elsewhere at D23, the day before - Friday July 14 - will see Disney Animation Studios and Pixar take to the stage.
Expected from that panel will be glimpses of Coco, The Incredibles 2 and Wreck-It Ralph follow-up Ralph Breaks the Internet.
The next Star Wars film - Episode VIII: The Last Jedi - is out on December 14.
