Forget Tom Holland: Is THIS the real breakout star of Spider-Man Homecoming?
SPIDER-MAN HOMECOMING is now edging close to release and its director has hinted that one performance in particular will be a standout.
Spider-Man Homecoming should be a huge summer blockbuster
Of course, all eyes will be on Tom Holland as the titular hero when the blockbuster lands.
But director Jon Watts has indicated that supporting actress Zendaya really is one to watch.
Calling her an “amazingly technical actor”, he told Vogue: “It makes me feel like such a bozo when I’m in front of someone who is that young and already just so good at what they do.”
He revealed that he was familiar with her work as a child star but said “she looked like a completely different person” when the time came for her to audition for him.

The movie also stars Tom Holland, left
Holland has also been speaking out about the movie, including his less than ideal first meeting with hero Robert Downey Jr.
“I got very nervous about meeting Robert Downey Jr as I have been a fan of his my entire life,” he recalled on The Graham Norton Show.
“When I met him I was thinking, ‘You look different in person, something isn’t quite the same.’
“And then Robert walked in and I realised I had been chatting to his stunt double!”
