Woody Allen’s Annie Hall turns 40: What the cast look like now
ANNIE HALL was released in the USA a hefty 40 years ago today - so what do its stars look like now?
Annie Hall was a huge cult success in the 1970s
The 1977 hit, made on a budget of just $4 million, won four Oscars and five BAFTAs upon its release, and remains fondly remembered today.
So what became of its biggest faces?
Woody Allen
Now 81, Allen continues to direct, write and act in Hollywood. Some of his most memorable output has included Manhattan (1979), Hannah and her Sisters (1986) and Match Point (2005), and in 1997 he married his third wife Soon-Yi Previn. He has continued to deny allegations of sexual abuse against his daughter Dylan Farrow.

Diane Keaton
After appearing in Annie Hall and bagging an Oscar, Keaton moved to expand her dramatic range - earning subsequent Academy Award noms for the likes of Reds (1981), Marvin’s Room (1996) and Something’s Gotta Give (2003). She also enjoyed huge popularity in films like The First Wives Club and Father of the Bride.
Carol Kane
Kane has had big success in both TV and film since Annie Hall, including an Emmy-winning turn in Taxi from 1980 to 1983. Currently she is a series regular in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, in which she plays Lillian Kaushtupper.

Paul Simon
It is of course music that is Paul Simon’s ace. He was already well established when Annie Hall came along, and has continued to enjoy long success. His additional acting work is still going, too: his last project was Welcome To Sweden in 2015.
Tony Roberts
Roberts, now 77, is best known for his work in Allen’s movies, where he frequently appears as the best friend. He has not appeared in a movie since 2012’s The Longest Week.

Shelley Duvall
Now 67, Duvall seldom makes public appearances now, since retiring from acting in 2002. She did notably appear in The Shining in 1977 and as Olive Oyl in Popeye in 1980. She appeared on an episode of Dr Phil in 2016 but the broadcast was slammed as “exploitive [sic] entertainment” and “appallingly cruel”, due to speculation around Duvall’s mental wellbeing at the time.
Christopher Walken
The now 74-year-old has appeared in more than 100 films and television shows, with Annie Hall being one of his earliest. He has gone on to be in the likes of A View to a Kill, Batman Returns, Pulp Fiction, Sleepy Hollow and Catch Me If You Can.
