Star Wars 8 Last Jedi news: Will Lando Calrissian appear? Billy Dee Williams reveals all
STAR WARS 8: THE LAST JEDI will truly be the talk of Star Wars Celebration this week, and already it seems we have our first big news on it.
Lando Calrissian will reportedly not be back
Rumours have been running rife for months that an array of past characters will pop up in the new film, but now one star in particular has ruled himself out.
Lando Calrissian was an integral part of the original trilogy, but actor Billy Dee Williams has reportedly told audiences he will not be back.
During his Smooth Talkin’ With Billy Dee Williams panel, he is quoted as confirming that he has not filmed an appearance.
“According to Billy Dee Williams, Lando will NOT be in Star Wars Episode 8: The Last Jedi,” one attendee posted.

Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi is expected to drop its first trailer today, ahead of the film’s release at the end of the year.
The assumption is that it will debut during The Last Jedi’s own dedicated panel, which is set to take place from 11am local time (4pm in the UK) today, April 14.
Hayden Christensen is another name who has been tipped to reprise his role, with Anakin Skywalker speculated to be seen as a Force Ghost.
However, when he appeared at the 40th Anniversary Panel yesterday he refrained from commenting whatsoever on the rumours.

Yesterday’s Panel also included a touching tribute to Carrie Fisher, who sadly died at the end of 2016.
She has recently been confirmed to make an appearance in Episode IX using pre-recorded footage.
Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi is out on December 15.
