Star Wars shock LEAK: ‘Fourth trilogy WILL happen after Episode 9’ and here’s when
LUCASFILM will produce a fourth Star Wars trilogy after Episode 9, claims an insider source.
Gary Barlow teases his role in the latest Star Wars film
Star Wars fans are now eagerly anticipating Episode VIII: The Last Jedi, the second film in the sequel trilogy.
Following that, Episode IX will be released in December 2019, with many speculating that it will just be Star Wars spin offs from 2020 onwards.
The assumption was that Disney, who own the rights, would want to follow creator George Lucas’ ambition of the saga having three trilogies; a beginning, middle and end.
However an insider source has spoken with Star Wars News Net and claimed that a fourth Star Wars trilogy will definitely happen.
Star Wars shock LEAK: ‘Fourth trilogy WILL happen after Episode 9’ and here’s when
The source said: “Since Star Wars is a generational thing, there will be a gap between the Sequel Trilogy’s end and the new trilogy’s arrival.”
“Lucasfilm will want to deliberately starve the market of Star Wars movies for a time.
“The powers that be are interested in making sure that there’s not a sense of fatigue.”
An Obi-Wan Kenobi movie starring Ewan McGregor is expected to happen too
With the news of a fourth trilogy in future, fans can look forward to at least Episode X, XI, XII. Maybe even a fifth after that?
And leaving at least a decade after Episode IX seems like a good move for Disney, as it will allow actors like Daisy Ridley and John Boyega to age, like Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill have.
