Marvel Ant-Man's Evangeline Lilly ‘slams DC Films’: ‘They take themselves too seriously’
EVANGELINE LILLY, star of Marvel’s Ant-Man, has allegedly taken a swipe at rival studio DC Films.
It seems Ant-Man star Evangeline Lilly is not a fan of DC films
The 37-year-old, who shot to stardom in Lost, played Hope Van Dyne in 2015’s Paul Rudd-fronted caper and discussed superhero movies at Emerald City Comic Con.
According to Bleeding Cool, she discussed her initial reluctance to do Ant-Man on the assumption that Iron Man was a “stupid superhero movie”.
She is reported as saying that she had considered retiring from acting after Lost and the Hobbit trilogy, until she got that all-important call.
“Then Edgar Wright called me,” she’s quoted as saying. “The only Marvel film I’d seen at that time was Iron Man, and I didn’t even know it was a Marvel film.

“So I was like, I don’t want to do a stupid superhero movie.”
Wright eventually left the project, but Lilly stayed with it, explaining: “Who casts Paul Rudd as a superhero? Nobody.
“So I was like, I gotta check out these Marvel guys and see what they’re up to, and apparently they were up to really cool ***.
