The Northern Irish actor has completed his filming commitments after shooting Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed simultaneously. The latter movie is out next year.
Now, away from Dakota Johnson et al, he’s shooting something completely different.
Early images have emerged of the 34-year-old on the set of Robin Hood: Origins, a role which was first announced last year.
He’ll be playing Will Scarlett alongside Jamie Foxx as Little John and Taron Egerton in the title role.

The film looks much grittier than some previous adaptations
Dornan said of the erotic films last September: “We have done two movies back to back now, and I’m actually finished with it. I move on very fast in my mind.
“As much as from the outside people think you are synonymous with one character, but I’m very much like, ‘Right, that’s done’ and move on to the next project and worry about that character.”
Fifty Shades Darker performed well at the box office but slipped far below the enormous haul made by its predecessor Fifty Shades of Grey.
It was also annihilated by critics who rushed to slam the plot, pacing and even the performances.

Dornan himself was even rumoured to think the movies are “rubbish”.
Still, it made for some interesting headlines: in France, a man was arrested for masturbating in one screening, as he didn’t know the couple next to him were military police officers.
Robin Hood: Origins is due out in March 2018.
