Set in the present day, the film opens with a now middle-aged Renton (McGregor) returning to the city to see his old pals Sick Boy (Miller), Spud (Bremner) and Begbie (Carlyle) again.
The cast themselves looked delighted to be back together as they strolled along the orange carpet last night.
