Disney plans feminist Santa Claus movie - with this FEMALE star tipped for the lead role
THE writer behind Miss Congeniality has penned a new festive comedy for Disney later this year - about a female Santa Claus.
Could Anna Kendrick play Santa in a new movie?
The promising surefire hit, which creator Marc Lawrence will also direct, is reported to have already tapped one of Hollywood’s most popular comedy talents for the lead role: Anna Kendrick.
According to Entertainment Weekly, she is being lined-up to take the title part in Nicole, which is about Santa’s daughter having to pick up the sleigh reigns when her dad retires and her brother backs out.
Kendrick is incredibly busy right now, having cemented her superstar status in the Twilight movies, Pitch Perfect and Into The Woods.
She’s got upcoming work en route in Pitch Perfect 3, as well as The Accountant and Table 19.
The 31-year-old looked amazing at the Golden Globes
Her career could get another HUGE boost from this role
Last year alone she was seen in Mike And Dave Need Wedding Dates, Get A Job, Trolls and The Hollars.
What’s more, she published a collection of essays, Scrappy Little Nobody, late last year.
Now, after decades of male actors portraying the Christmas icon, it seems she could fulfill present-delivering duties later in 2017.
She has yet to comment on the speculation herself, although she did take to Twitter earlier this week to hail Meryl Streep for her Golden Globes speech against Donald Trump.
She's perhaps currently best known for the Pitch Perfect films

Kendrick wrote simply: “Is there anyone better? #Meryl”.
Disney have proven form with Christmas films, after developing the Tim Allen Santa Clause film series.
There’s also another festive comedy in the works from the studio, with Kevin Hart in the top role.
