Christoph Waltz was NOT happy with James Bond villain role in Spectre and here's why
CHRISTOPHER WALTZ has admitted his James Bond villain in Spectre with Daniel Craig had some problems.
Spectre - Final Trailer
The Austrian-German actor played the iconic Bond villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld in last year’s Spectre.
In a recent interview he revealed he wasn’t exactly happy about the part.
He said: “I cannot claim that I’ve really nailed Blofeld.
"Overall, it held water and was okay. But it wasn’t what I’ve been looking for. I was searching for more inspiration."
Fans will remember Blofeld survived, being spared by Craig’s Bond at the end of Spectre.
Waltz was asked if he knew nothing about the future of the next film.
He said: “Right now, nobody even knows which studio will produce the next, and if Daniel [Craig] will return.”
Back in January it was revealed Christoph Waltz was signed on to return as in two movies.
The only catch in the contract was if Craig returned as 007.
On Monday it was revealed Craig had been offered $150 million to continue as 007 for two more films.
Assuming Craig signs back on this could be a great way to finish the actor’s run as Bond with a Blofeld trilogy.
A source recently confirmed Sony’s plan for more movies: “Daniel’s the key for a seamless, safe transition as far as Sony and Bond bosses are concerned.
“They’re prepared to pay a king’s ransom to make it happen.
“Then they will shoot two more films, which will be made virtually back-to-back, preferably featuring Daniel as 007 before he passes the figurative baton to someone else for a third movie that will mark the start of the new era.”
