The Expatriate: review and trailer
AARON ECKHART gets to play the action hero in The Expatriate, a clunky, sub-Bourne cloak-and-dagger potboiler set in Belgium.
American widower Ben (Eckhart) is working on a hush-hush project and trying to connect with his resentful teenage daughter Amy (Liana Liberato). Then his identity is erased, his place of employment is abandoned, his former workmates are found dead and he is running for his life.
An efficient if uninspired thriller with some leaden dialogue, random violence and lazy plotting.
