Cinderella fans hit out at new Amazon movie over plot change - 'Gone too far'
CINDERELLA is getting a new adaptation from Amazon Prime Video and while many fans of the tale are loving its revitalisation, some are not happy about some of the changes made to the story.
Cinderella: Camila Cabello stars in Amazon Prime trailer
Next month Amazon Prime Video will release a new and improved version of the Cinderella story. Camila Cabello plays Cinderella - known as Ella - a poor young woman who strives to build up her own clothing business. When she is visited by her Fabulous Godmother (Billy Porter), Ella is granted a chance to attend the King's ball in a stunning dress and glass slippers. The trailer, which was released this week, shows Ella being asked to become a princess by Prince Robert (Nicholas Galitzine), prompting her to turn down his offer in favour of her business.

Ella can be seen saying: "What about my work? I don't want a life stuck waving from a royal box.
"I need more than a life confined to a basement."
Fans of the classical tale were not too happy by this change.
Speaking out on Twitter, one wrote: "Now why would Cinderella who was practically a slave WANT to work some more instead of live in a palace where she can use their resources to help the townspeople omfg the girlbossification of classics has gone too far." (sic)

A third concurred: "Like the whole point is she's being abused by her stepmother making her work … why would she give up her ticket out of that life." (sic)
Although the drastic change in the show has divided viewers, many are still very excited about the upcoming movie.
One gushed: "I cannot wait to see @Camila_Cabello as Cinderella in #CinderellaMovie. It's going to be so great!! I can feel it!"
