While the cinemas are shut we need to find something to turn to which we can enjoy just as much. Enter Netflix, who has really upped their game with new releases. Express.co.uk breaks down some of the best movies to come to Netflix in May.
All Day and a Night – arriving May 1
This independent movie drama stars upcoming Commissioner Gordon Jeffrey Wright, and is set in an American prison.
The official synopsis reads: “While serving life in prison, a young man looks back at the people, the circumstances and the system that set him on the path toward his crime.”
The movie has been made by Joe Robert Cole, known for his work behind the scenes on The People v OJ Simpson and Black Panther.
Mrs Serial Killer – arriving May 1
The new Hindi-language film is a dark thriller which will leave fans wanting more.
The official synopsis reads: “When a doctor gets jailed for a string of shocking murders, his loyal wife sets out to commit a copycat crime to prove his innocence."
The movie from writer and director Shirish Kunder stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Manoj Bajpayee, Mohit Raina and Zayn Marie Khan.
The Half of It – arriving May 1
This film looks like a kind-of dupe for To All The Boys, this new rom-com is a bit different from the usual ones.
The official synopsis reads: “When smart but cash-strapped teen Ellie Chu agrees to write a love letter for a jock, she doesn't expect to become his friend — or fall for his crush.”
The new LGBT+ film comes from filmmaker Alice Wu and stars Leah Lewis, Daniel Diemer and Alexxis Lemire.
The Wrong Missy – arriving May 13
This movie stars possible Joe Exotic actor David Spade and Lauren Lapkus as an unlikely duo on a nightmare holiday.
The official synopsis reads: “Tim thinks he's invited the woman of his dreams on a work retreat to Hawaii, realizing too late he mistakenly texted someone from a nightmare blind date.”
The comedy movie also stars Nick Swardson, Sarah Chalke, Jackie Sandler and Rob Schneider.
