The 47-year-old made her exit as a presenter on Homes Under the Hammer two years ago, after appearing in the programme for 13 years.
And, while Lucy still appears in repeat episodes, the presenter has now spoken out about what led her to quit the hit morning TV show.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, the star reminisced about making the decision to depart from the show, as she revealed she had taken a lot of time to consider whether she should leave.
Opening up on why she left, she spilled: “It wasn’t taken lightly and it was nothing to do with anything other than I've given the BBC 13 years.”
The TV favourite continued: “I just felt it was the right time for me to go and do some other things.”

The mother-of-two went on to discuss how she was offered a number of other jobs soon after she quit the property gig.
“I got offered lots of other jobs on Channel 4 and I literally have had a crazy year after leaving,” she admitted.
“I moved on and I did four different TV shows for Channel 4. It was just a time in my life that I was really ready to do that.”
Lucy also spoke out about what filming for Homes Under the Hammer had been like.
When asked about what the show was like behind-the-scenes, she said: “Every day is different.
“One day I'll be sent to Wales, the next day I'll be in Canterbury.
“One day I'll be filming a toilet, the next day I'll be filming a hotel, and the next day I'll be filming a new build.”
The star, who currently fronts the Channel 4 series Bang On Budget, added: “It was so varied, it was so diverse, but the thing that I loved the most was the people.”
It came as Lucy revealed a very surprising secret about her past.
Spilling all, the presenter told how she had a big interest in dancing, and had a background in the sport.
“I went to a dance school so I used to do tap, ballet, modern, jazz,” Lucy revealed.
She added: “I used to sing. I’m an old stage school kid.
“Not many people know that,” Lucy laughed.
Homes Under the Hammer airs weekdays on BBC One from 10am.
Bang On Budget continues on Channel 4 on Sunday at 5.35pm.
