Leonard Cohen dead: Legendary musician dies aged 82
LEONARD COHEN has died at the age of 82, it has been reported.

The influential musician's death was confirmed by his label Sony Music Canada on his official Facebook page.
A statement read: "It is with profound sorrow we report that legendary poet, songwriter and artist, Leonard Cohen has passed away.
"We have lost one of music's most revered and prolific visionaries. A memorial will take place in Los Angeles at a later date.
"The family requests privacy during their time of grief."

His death comes just months after he penned a poignant goodbye message to his ex-girlfriend Marianne Ihlen, who inspired his single Bird on a Wire, saying he would "follow very soon".
The letter read: "Well, Marianne. It's come to this time when we are really so old that our bodies are falling apart and I think I will follow you very soon.
"Know that I am so close behind you, if you stretch out your hand, I think you can reach mine. And you know that I've always loved you for your beauty and your wisdom, but I don't need to say anything more about that because you know all about that.

He had previously commented that he would pass away following the death of his ex-girlfriend
"But now, I just want to wish you a very good journey. Goodbye old friend. Endless love, see you down the road."
Leonard, who is best-known for his single Hallelujah, which was later covered by Jeff Buckley, released his final album You Want It Darker, earlier this year.
Speaking of his lengthy career in 1992, the iconic sixties-songwriter commented: "I never had the sense that there was an end. That there was a retirement or that there was a jackpot."
The Canadian singer, was born on September 21st 1934, in Westmount, Quebec.
He learned to play the guitar as a teenager before going on to form a folk group called the Buckskin Boys

Leonard went on to enjoy a career spanning more than five decades.
The star has been hailed as the "high priest of pathos" and the "godfather of gloom", due to his struggle with depression which was often reflected in his lyrics.
He joins a long list of legendary musicians who has passed away this year including David Bowie, Prince and framer Beatles producer Sir George Martin.
He is survived by his two children Adam and Lorca.
