Noel Edmonds sparks furious backlash after claiming he owns CANCER-CURING box
NOEL EDMONDS is never one to shy away from controversy online, and now he has sparked yet another backlash after posting a photograph of a box he alleges has the ability to cure cancer.
Noel Edmonds sparked a Twitter backlash after posting an image of a "cancer-curing box"
The 67-year-old TV stalwart took to Twitter this morning to share an image of an EMP pad, a "pulsed electro magnetic field interface on a tablet" that claims to have life-altering benefits.
Alongside the picture, he wrote: "A simple box that slows ageing, reduces pain, lifts depression and stress and tackles cancer. Yep tackles cancer!"
Noel followed up with another tweet, stating: "Just looked at the latest stats showing very soon 50 per cent of us will get cancer. @EMP_Pad is one way of reducing your risk #selfhealth."
It wasn't long until his remarkable claims attracted a storm of abuse from both angry and amused users, and he quickly became one of the top trending topics on the social media platform.
Noel said he read up on the statistics and said he believes in the box's powers

A Twitter user said Noel likes "boxes" as a reference to Deal Or No Deal
One person wrote: "Noel Edmonds is right about positivity. Everyone seems pretty positive he's an idiot."
Another barked: "God, scientists must be thick. All those decades of research, and they've been beaten to it by Noel Edmonds."
"Noel Edmonds has a really bad addiction to boxes. We've had Deal or No Deal Boxes everywhere. Mr Blobby's Mystery Box and now a Miracle Box," someone else mused.

A doubtful follower even compared him to David Icke, famous for his conspiracy theories: "Noel Edmonds is going full Icke. You never go full Icke."
This latest incident comes after Noel previously suggested on Twitter that migrants were to blame for a traffic jam that saw him abandon his journey.
He said in January: "Just tried to get somewhere. Allowed loads of time but abandoned journey. Am I alone in feeling Britain is full?"
