Adrian Belew quits Nine Inch Nails
Guitarist ADRIAN BELEW has quit NINE INCH NAILS less than four months after joining the line-up.
Belew signed up for Trent Reznor's band in February (13) and was set to perform summer (13) shows with the rockers, but he took to his Facebook.com page on Thursday night (06Jun13) to announce he is walking away from the group.
In a short post, he writes, "Concerning me being part of the 2013 Nine Inch Nails band: it didn't work."
Editors at music website Consequence Of Sound have reported that Belew earlier made a longer statement, which has since been deleted.
It reportedly read, "Hey folks, before this goes too far let me say this: I greatly respect trent and the music he makes. no one is at fault. we both agreed it just was not working. I'm sorry to disappoint anyone. that really hurts. but NIN will do an amazing show..."
It is the latest line-up change for the band in recent weeks - bassist Eric Avery quit last month (May13) and has since been replaced by Reznor's longtime collaborator Robin Finck.
