'Rolf will carry on working' Harris' wife says star is painting to cope with recent arrest
ROLF Harris' wife has spoken out for the first time since the star's recent arrest, admitting that he is painting everyday and will continue working.
Alwen was speaking from the couple's multi-million pound home in Bray, Berkshire, when she told of the suffering that she and her family have endured after the TV star was questioned over historic sex abuse claims last month.
"Yes, it has been quite hard but it’s all right, we’re still laughing. I hope it will be OK," Alwen told the Daily Mirror yesterday. “Rolf will carry on working.”
The sculptor and jeweller, who has been married to Rolf for 55 years, went on to say that “he’s painting every day” in order to cope with the ordeal.
She and her daughter Bindi are said to have been rallying around the 'Animal Hospital' star and are obviously sticking by him.
Rolf has not been seen in public since he was arrested last month over allegations relating to the Operation Yewtree investigation.
The Australian entertainer was first questioned over the claims in November 2012, but his arrest is included in the strand of the Operation Yewtree inquiry that does not relate to paedophile Jimmy Savile. Rolf has been released on bail until May.
Rolf is scheduled to appear at the Bristol Hippodrome next month and denies all claims made against him.
