Jane Seymour splits from husband number four
FORMER Bond girl Jane Seymour has revealed that her fourth marriage is over.
The 62-year-old British star confirmed she and husband James Keach, 65, have been separated for several months.
She issued a statement confirming the split following reports in the US that she had ended the marriage over her husband’s alleged cheating.
A spokesman for the movie star said: “Jane Seymour and James Keach confirm they are separated and have been for several months. At this time they are negotiating the terms of their divorce.”
The statement added: “They will continue their relationship as devoted parents to their children, as business associates and partners, and in their joint dedication to preserving and furthering the charitable endeavours that they have worked on throughout their marriage.”
The couple, who wed in 1993, have twin 17-year-old sons John and Kristopher.
Seymour, who appeared in Live And Let Die in 1973 opposite Roger Moore, also saw her last marriage to businessmen David Flynn end because of his cheating. Flynn, who split from Seymour in 1991 after a decade of marriage, later admitted to at least a dozen affairs. The couple, who had two children – Katherine and Sean – divorced in 1992.
She put the blame for the failure of her first two brief marriages on a fortune teller.
Her first foray into matrimony was in 1971 when she married Michael Attenborough, son of actor and director Richard.
That ended in 1973, but in 1977 she wed her ex-husband’s best friend Geoffrey “Geep” Planer, but they parted the next year.
She later said that crystal ball predictions were responsible for these splits, though the New Orleans fortune teller underestimated her marital turmoil, telling her soon after her first wedding: “You’ll marry three times”.
The star confessed: “I know the fortune teller’s word affected both my first marriages and I know I married my second husband fully aware that our union wouldn’t last.”
Seymour, who lives in Malibu, California, is best known in the US for her role as the star of the Nineties television series Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman.
She won a new army of fans when she appeared in hit comedy movie Wedding Crashers in 2005.
