Daredevils Ant and Dec finish show on a high
TV double act Ant and Dec rounded off their latest series of Saturday Night Takeaway shows on a high yesterday – 170ft above the ground.
Viewers saw the pair, both 37, perform a daredevil stunt, racing against each other to climb scaffolding dangling from a crane outside the ITV studios on London’s South Bank.
Former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts, 31, pulled a lever to launch the stunt and the structure with matching red and blue towers for the boys to climb was lifted a jaw-dropping 120ft into the air.
Ant, in red, was first to reach the top, 50ft higher still, and hit a buzzer to set off congratulatory fireworks.
The Geordie star cried out: “At last! I had to win, Ashley, I’ve never won.”
A shaken Dec said: “I lost my footing a couple of times. That is pretty hardcore.”
