Orlando Bloom ready to turn on the charm as Shakespere's Romeo
HE has melted hearts as an elf and a pirate but now ORLANDO BLOOM, is to make his Broadway debut as the world’s most famous lover Romeo.
I looked at him and it was like watching a man shed every ounce of armour he had as a celebrity and just adore this girl.
The 35-year-old husband of model MIRANDA KERR will play an older Romeo opposite CONDOLA RASHAD in an inter-racial version of Shakespeare’s classic directed by DAVID LEVEAUX.
Leveaux immediately noticed Bloom and 26-year-old Rashad’s chemistry when they recreated the balcony scene in Los Angeles, saying: “The first line out of Condola’s mouth made Orlando laugh. I looked at him and it was like watching a man shed every ounce of armour he had as a celebrity and just adore this girl.
“I thought, ‘There you go.’”
Romeo And Juliet opens on September 19 at New York’s the Richard Rodgers Theatre.
