Sir Ian McKellen had new sitcom title changed
SIR IAN MCKELLEN asked TV bosses to change the title of his new sitcom to remove references to old age.
The X-Men actor has signed up to star in a new comedy show called Vicious Old Queens with his longtime friend Sir Derek Jacobi, playing two elderly gay men who live together in London.
However, the show's name has now been shortened to just Vicious because McKellen, 73, didn't like the age reference.
He says, "We're playing two old gay fellows who have lived together for 50 years. The working title was originally Vicious Old Queens - and when it was suggested to me that I might be involved, I said, 'What on earth do you mean? I'm most offended - I'm not old!'"
