Beyoncé and Madonna express their support for same-sex marriage in the US
SINGERS Beyoncé and Madonna have showed their support for gay marriage by airing their opinions on California's Prop 8 ban.
Supreme Court Hearing's regarding the ban against same-sex marriage began on Tuesday, but the famous women are determined to help fight for equal rights.
Beyoncé showed her support by posting a handwritten message on her Facebook page, that included some of her well-known lyrics from the hit song 'Single Ladies.'
The mother-of-one had altered the words slightly, and written: "If you like it you should be able to put a ring on it. #wewillunite4marriageequality."
The post already has 118,405 likes and has been shared almost 35,000 times, proving that those in the public eye can make somewhat of a difference.
Mother-of-four Madonna also took to her Facebook page to write: "Marriage equality, let’s start a revolution," while Ellen de Generes hit out at those who don't support it saying: "Today I'm thinking of the Supreme Court. I hope they remember what makes our country great, and support equality for all."
Other stars to show their support included Ben Affleck, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kristen Bell.
