'Abba' reunite for tour
THE former members of Abba looked as fresh as they did in the 1970s when they “reunited” in London yesterday before a final tour.
But instead of belting out one of their many hits, “Agnetha, Anni-Frid, Benny and Bjorn” posed silently for fans.
The Swedish quartet were, in fact, realistic waxwork models.
The Madame Tussauds models, which each cost £150,000, were on display in the Renaissance Rooms in south London, before they visit Vienna, Berlin, Amsterdam and Blackpool.
They will then be permanently displayed in a new museum devoted to Abba in Stockholm, which opens next year.
We are the only group of that status that has never been reunited. I think that is cool
It will also include other mementoes from the band, who sold 400 million records.
Former Abba member Bjorn Ulvaeus said he hoped all four stars would be at the opening of the museum, but ruled out a comeback.
“We are the only group of that status that has never been reunited. I think that is cool,” he said.
